mét בש John Bolton, who will become President Trump's National Security Advisor on April 9th, is eager to start a cyber war with Russia and North Korea. Bolton's point of reference is the Sony Pictures hack in 2014. Although the establishment media did not fully report North Korea was the culprit, computer security experts believe it's unlikely they're responsible. A few weeks ago, federal prosecutors accused Russia-ling attackers of2/6
penetrating the U.S.-electric grid, water processing plants, air transportation facilities, and other targets. Sketchy and non-existent evidence of responsibility for cyber attacks, especially the supposed DNC hack, hasn't moderated rhetoric, especially in regard to incoming National Security Advisor, John Bolton. He hasn't specified what sort of attacks would be considered against Russia, Iran, and North Korea. But cyber security experts say there are a wide range of options, from3/6
infiltrating a political opponent's email account to blocking communications, cutting off networks, shutting down a power grid, or even physically destroying machinery. As the U.S. and Israel did in Iran, what they're doing developed Stuxnet malware. Despite all the hoopla over invading Russians, Chinese, Iranian, and North Korean hackers, and the danger they pose, the United States by far has the most powerful cyber warfare capability. It should be4/6
expected much of this capability is secret. However, cyber security experts believe much of the U.S. offensive capability relies on malicious code that manipulates, disrupts, and destroys computers, information systems, networks, and physical infrastructure controlled by computer systems. It's unknown at this point if the appointment of John Bolton will result in an escalation of offensive cyber warfare against perceived enemies. Despite a lack of conclusive evidence, Bolton is5/6
convinced North Korea, Russia, China, and Iran are engaged in ongoing information warfare against the United States. Bolton's belligerent character and past remarks, including his desire to militarily attack both North Korea and Iran, demonstrate a definite willingness to go on the offensive without solid evidence. Messing with Russia and China, however, could have serious implications for the entire planet, including the possibility of nuclear war. The foreign language
