politics at Peter B. on the boiling frog podcast and the author classified woman the memoir of her experiences as a national security whistleblower welcome to use a bell good to be here either now this is our pilot show our EAM in general is to share important stories that each of us has recently reported and and the views and knowledge of our colleagues here Sibel why don't you tell our viewers4/108
what your vision is for this new series all Arab I have had this vision and I believe it had been shared by by our %HESITATION partners yeah oily rocks posed for quite awhile each terms of having to show where we can discuss some of these important issues but not in this under this interview format wanted some lively discussion where I don't have to as I always5/108
played in my articles bite my tongue and I don't have to try to be gracious it's really hard for me %HESITATION it is I will be symbolized but I cannot promise being gracious because that's one of the things you have to do in your house you have to be a gracious host that's how I grew up and that's how it works floor I really professional look6/108
radio interview show size just like okay let's just have a real talk real talk and no censorship and you want to get tough on some issues list if not if you let me harder some issues it's getting hard and if you want to make some people angry not because we want to make them angry but because they each shoes may actually in use some anger let's7/108
be it let's do it so well this is why we are having this out tests show and you're going to explore various ways to make this a reality and have sloping desktop provoking you know the critical thinking that important aspect but it's also exciting to watch and also uses emotions because I don't want people like that okay I'm I'm listening to a lecture I want people8/108
to participate with their emotions get angry yeah sad get out said yet motivated I'm I'm also sometimes lack because I think there's nothing wrong for us to be able to laugh when it comes to some of these really really hard issues that you would think there's nothing funny but sometimes they look at it from different angles you know you are able to laugh and I hope9/108
we can live together purpose each of them as well good James I I certainly hope we can do that so I'm I should just mention for those of you out there who are watching this on my you tube channel in the moments that this I. series is based in have at home on the boiling frog post YouTube channel and thanks to the magic of YouTube annotations10/108
I'm going to put an annotation somewhere over here and I you can just click on that to go over there and subscribe to that channel not only for this report but hopefully for other %HESITATION video rep reports in the future great well I'm gonna start off here and %HESITATION reference a couple of recent stories that I've covered and then I want to share with you %HESITATION11/108
let the story that broke last week that that really deeply bothered me and I'll explain why so back on November twenty first I posted an interview with NSA whistleblowers bill Binney and Russ Tice at Peter B. Collins dot com they explain why an essay boss Keith Alexander recently admitted that he doesn't know how many classified documents ed Snowden actually copy and it's because an essay leaders12/108
decided way back there not to install audit systems in many an essay databases so they can do whatever they want and not be tracks like the rest of us are by the NSA also last week I reported that Alexander had offered to resign last June but the Obama administration rejected his offer now recently I interviewed appellate attorney John Eisenberg who represents hunger striking prisoners at Guantanamo13/108
about the ethical and legal violations that arise from force feeding hunger strikers and in my most recent processing distortion podcast I offered critical commentary on a recent sixty minutes report about gitmo where reporter Leslie stall it showed stunning ignorance she didn't even know who shocker armor it's one of the best known prisoners there until he shouted at her from his cell while she was walking through14/108
the cell block with the warden and she also stated without any detail are proof that a hundred former inmates of the seven hundred seventy so who have been through Guantanamo are quote unquote returns to the fight well then we learned later in the week about penny lane penny lane is an area inside the wire at Guantanamo but outside of the %HESITATION lockdown camps in it's essentially15/108
a group of luxury apartments and what we've learned is that the CIA took prisoners there and they wined and dined them some of them were offered porn if they wanted to watch it or their favorite movies and they were then bribes to become double agents and when they left penny lane many of them were given we think millions of dollars and told to infiltrate al Qaeda16/108
and then report back to C. I. A. minders now we have no idea how many people were involved in this program but clearly some of them went back to the fight or back to the battlefield at our behest and so this is another piece of spycraft and and what Dick Cheney called the dark side that the United States has been involved with in on the one17/108
hand sixty minutes scares Americans by saying that a hundred %HESITATION prisoners of from Guantanamo have gone back to the fight some of them appeared in a video so they didn't pick up arms %HESITATION but then on the other hand we learned that some of those people were intentionally sent back to the fight and we have no idea if they did their duty as double agents or18/108
if they double crossed the U. S. which is a typical %HESITATION situation with a you know these people who are really committed to their cause so I I I I just find all of this astounding and once again we have a corporate media that sits back and takes dictation from government sources what your comments well if I may first of all let me just give kudos19/108
to you for that podcast you did an excellent job I think dissecting that %HESITATION that stall peace and is one of the commenters on boiling frogs noted it's almost like a people magazine piece or something it was just really quite fluff %HESITATION quite quite disgusting to see that from supposedly one of the premier news organizations in a in the United States accord on quote on but20/108
I think you give Leslie stall too much credit I I don't think she was actually ignorant of US soccer armor I think it was just that that the type of %HESITATION that faking it's that so that you do for a report in order to introduce the idea to the audience I I I I think she was so fully aware of of who he was and what21/108
was happening it was just kind of that bad thing that you do to to add to kind of lead the audience into the the story but it's not yet for device that's interesting I have thought of that seems well that that's my take on it but at at either way I think it's criticizing the way they presented it and it really was like they're presenting it22/108
to a bunch of kindergartners so it was it was quite insulting to my intelligence and probably to allow the intelligence of a lot of the listeners out there it's about no no I I agree with James are I was interviewed by sixty minutes in two thousand two it was at Bradley and ed Bradley was just that he was the person the front there who sat with23/108
me and he seemed like a kind of a nice person he seems genuinely it was not I don't think it was an act really interests that he did a very good job I had in about ninety minutes special with him and he did what he was supposed to do he felt he you know he has regardless of that was when his role was them then that's24/108
film have to be sent to the edit room and then you had the editors and then you have the management and then you had CBS sixty minutes only eagle team because they have a really legal team so there are no one's who sat there and decided which names to take out of that interview and how and you know in what way to really condense it and25/108
have that semi fluff piece it really made me look like this in your big time and I still end up being disappointment a lot of people and and and again the people go back to it at the end of this show if you have time a lot of people and because sometimes it even happens this might work day beaded and they expect someone was truly victimized26/108
and buried in New York and they fired her and she's petite she stops yeah yeah you accident and speak about marriage offers even though I have been married for twenty two years that's what CBS sixty minutes accomplished now get in line with what the heat was they selected what they wanted to select and they put it out there and I don't think that Bradley had anything27/108
to do you know with with that process how close lately I haven't had mainstream media channels since two thousand two so I don't have CDS or any of those channels I mean she's like the rest of them you have a group that are kind of bimbo lowered down one then you have these people who say guess what my boss is this site and my bosses bosses28/108
they decide what's going to be here but it was a great show it was an excellent show Peter a couple of things one is that I did mention in they processing distortion podcast about your experience in other whistleblowers who tell the full story and then sixty minutes select just parts of it that pass muster with the lawyers that don't offend the government too much that will29/108
limit their access in the future and I worked for CBS in Chicago and in San Francisco and I can tell you that the lawyers run that company ugh nothing happens without approval from the legal department and the final comment is that %HESITATION Lara Logan and even though they have suspended her for the embarrassment of her %HESITATION blundering report on Benghazi %HESITATION it you know she really30/108
epitomizes the beautiful woman who plays the role of a hard hitting investigating reporter on sixty minutes so well let's turn to you next what's been on your mind in on your agenda recently almost so many things so many things beer and that's the whole thing and I'm also gonna watch to see if I'm gonna get any signal because you know me once I start knocking aggregate31/108
that Jack and it goes on for ever but one of the most important issues that I have been %HESITATION working I'm meeting and talking to people outside the country you for example in Iran and also here has to do with Iran and what has been happening with that one and it's really amazing for me because based on what I get from people there and based on32/108
what I myself you know research and analyze and buy and read about it and then what I get pulled from the mainstream media and alternative media here in the United States would also all over Europe there's this huge discrepancy and and the and it's really amazing even with a lot of and antiwar activists you know people that you know we associate red and great you know33/108
knowledgeable people they are basically reacting or responding to all these headlines and what is being told him the make and the mainstream media and all these different things the way they are being taught to respond you know basically me what we have here in the front is B. have this president president Obama and this administration trying so hard to have peace with our Iran do not34/108
have sanctions you know and to be civilized and and they are fighting to Israel lobby Ford man they are fighting so hard you know I don't think any president has done it but he's got kind of a president all of this six years later slopping cabinet you know there is this thing in their religion Islam that Mohammed went to the K. spends six seven hours there35/108
and he didn't know how to read and write he was illiterate that okay and you came down the mountain from the K. and he could read and write you went there and some revelations happen you know with some some miracle took place there and I'm not going to install any religion or anything but I believe others something like that happen to president Obama people have to36/108
look and see what kind of smoke you're talking about year because this is exactly the same man who has been groaning the hell out of Pakistan Libya Egypt and Syria okay and now suddenly he's opposing the Congress the democratic base and the Israel lobby he wants to make peace with Iraq okay and people who really need to look at in a very simplified way first because37/108
nothing is really simple but things are simple okay yourself in the position of the administration in the position of president Obama you have had some me time who okay and in your face disasters results from Egypt happening right and Syria only got talk about the bad guys look what happened with Syria so let's say you have been working with these people rise then all these people38/108
who say oh it's time to bring you all guys back so you bring either Kissinger or Brzezinski essay how that how am I gonna get out of this crap what I gotta do you guys know me and they say you meet a girl like this through the back door bass what they call a snap back is the grand chase game and how you sneakily do what39/108
you want to do Regis E. da hawk how the war with Iran so what kind of things would you do less they not stopping president Obama's position okay up and put yourself in the whole exposition what would you like to see yeah I would like to see some kind of unrest in Iran that's one way to look at it okay because who leaked the fact that40/108
there has been you secret meetings between the United States now Iranian you know president Andrea the administration that each gives the administration who has been reporting this secret eva secrets you know it would be right now going to court you know like James rise then and as Snowden who the hell this important things you're trying to get you know a fish official leaks are okay absolutely41/108
micro over surely wanted this even distraction and mainstream media's reporting it cracked and when the mainstream media later went and the press the press the White House the White House confirms it now look what's happening with you any insight you're listening and your hearing if you're watching the Iranian president because they know you know we have been having the secret meetings because anyone not only with42/108
hardliners I am ordered you Manian I left there and not touch with Iranian evenly the progressives they want freeship change okay they don't want a president an administration that is highly secret Lila last fall me some cuckoo see ever or king wherever it is and what else okay is unacceptable whether it is or the heart lighter or they are dead that progresses okay so if you43/108
are putting the Iranian administration in this really awful position and I tell you why based on my information from people have been talking where there are some people who are even looking to assassinate me the current president okay he's a traitor okay that's what do you mean you probably see even the ones who are not hockey sure not hardliners so that's not maybe one thing they44/108
want to accomplish you bring that kind of unrest there let's see the president gets assassinated and let's say no more hard liners coming power yeah I'm gonna say see these people are in charge be me try okay but these people are not the kind of people they can negotiate when he got up like that so that's why wait did charts like Kissinger's their mind once he45/108
has work like that actually comes from the British Empire that has more British than Americans kind of more sound the smarter somehow he has that kind of revelation president Obama or each set up in such a way with all the negotiations and everything and set up the whole scene and set them up to fail and say we need a good guy tribesman we try so hard46/108
to prevent war they didn't leave any other options worth does Israel notice of course but you have to play a role in this so his presence he almost likely Henry Kissinger it isn't just gonna say meanwhile you Israel you that he is you gonna scream the loudest about it you know because they are not going to support your bomber it's horrible it how do you order47/108
for it to be believable they have you yet outside what website yesterday and that's twenty cartilages land this story nobody has been looking at what we are seeing here with Iran well the different angles and everybody has been parody we have had more how mad woman's beat president Obama he went somewhere in some kind of but which we do something some revelations came to him you48/108
have president Obama and change man that's this knowing the alternative media selling because that's the story the mainstream media wants you to believe and that's the story that is cool cop that by establishment by saying administration and unfortunately my blood is boiling here has been boiling because I feel like here I am again outside very very few half full of people we are having that little49/108
voice moments force about animals go ahead please well Sibel I'm hearing two forms of criticism from %HESITATION kind of extreme ends about this proposed interim deal with Iran one comes from some leftist Americans and Gareth Porter is is one of the sources and he analyzes this and thinks that this is theater and that %HESITATION Obama wants to go through the motions our as a peacemaker here50/108
as as you're suggesting the other extreme I heard from a right wing radio show whose was reporting that %HESITATION the news media in Iran %HESITATION have said that this deal enables Iran to move forward to develop a nuclear capability and so that's what is being pushed out to the right wing in the United States but for me the fundamental is that that has not changed is51/108
that there is a broad and I think ms placed a sentiment in the United States among our elected officials that regime change in Iran is in the best interests of the United States and that this is really just a stepping stone to that I I I'm gonna have to agree I think that I'm in some way this it is a set up to fail type agreement52/108
and I I think that further down the road it it if not even the Obama administration but %HESITATION but whatever you know right wing administration whatever gets into power neocons or hawks get into power at some point will be able to use this to to say that this was violated in some way as the excuse towards that furthering of the region change agenda so I I53/108
think that there is there's definitely something underneath the surface here this isn't a straightforward narrative of peace and happiness and I and I I'm I'm certainly keeping my eye on Israel in this because obviously they on them the way that they react to this is going to %HESITATION it tell a lot about the way that this will be it accepted or not and and my money54/108
unfortunately on the long term is that this will will fall apart at some point I I I think you know it the prospects are very strong in in that direction and this is the script that even though Israel is acting offended and working to %HESITATION you know activate a pack in all the allies in the United States that about this awful awful deal %HESITATION I do55/108
think that most of that is posturing and the that there is a desire you know on on most parts of the P. five plus one to go through the motions looking for a pretext to go forward with an attack on Iran or with covert ops to %HESITATION destabilize or change the government great now I absolutely am and we are seeing this but as I said out56/108
there currently we are having this all eat from the from the opposite %HESITATION Carney from the Republicans at how he's doing it and making a pact with evil of course you can't cross radios and everything from the left what I hear you know he's a he's a man of peace now you see me you deserve that Nobel Peace Prize you see that you guys were all57/108
jumping and judgment so white killed millions of people are hundreds of thousands of people who are so why should he rant and rage to reorder on the art of war six seven or eight or ten times and a bunch of covert wars around Indiana he's joined the real peace many years and out this is why you have to both Democrats two years down the road vote
