I have one in spirit with news but dot com today we'd like to give our viewers %HESITATION bit of a behind the scenes look at what actually takes place in what goes into producing our videos but before I like to do that I'd like to remind everyone that our Kickstarter campaign is under way and it's winding down we currently have less than two weeks ago and2/34
we have a long way to go to reach our goal so I encourage you all to go to work extorted camp and pledge your support for into at this point I'd like to bring in our one of our video editors Brock west and %HESITATION let's hear from our news but team this this guy Brock west does a fantastic job editing %HESITATION our videos a lot of3/34
work goes into it and he's more V. behind the scenes type of a guy but we wanted to let you guys know exactly what all guess it goes into these productions Brock yes there are things to have me on and it's good to mom so my advice to the news but audience I'm you guys prolly nine may form the Asia Pacific perspective video series that I4/34
do with times called it of color group report dot com but yeah sorted some you know where in the middle of a fundraising campaign here where and when you know it everyone's going a hundred has now it's who I am to reach out all he SA I thought was good for us to %HESITATION get together and and come to maybe give people a sneak peek as5/34
to what actually goes into creating other news by dot com presentations and yeah it's been I'm so far it's been I've been a part of me by tame for about six months and it's been a a crazy wild ride and where we've had we've had some ups and downs and some some troubleshooting and some issues but that's the why things guy when you when you started6/34
any news organization especially a brand new unique one what we have here with news but well that's right now we are the one of a kind organization there's nothing else like news but there had it this model has never been tried in has never been successful and what the difference between our organizations and the other organizations that you find out there %HESITATION is specifically are backing7/34
the funding model and we do this in a very transparent way and we %HESITATION are one hundred percent back then funded by the people we don't run advertisements we don't have the corporate sponsors and we're not five oh one C. three so at this allows viewers to actually have a say in in what's taking place in what we're doing and to be able to participating get8/34
active in %HESITATION spreading information in in getting the word out and up put putting their money where their mouth is voting with their dollars so it's it's great to see were definitely very %HESITATION thankful for all the support that our supporters have contributed to us %HESITATION as far as our our productions go in in Brock as you said you you've been with us now for about9/34
six seven months and now you've been a great addition to the team with it's been a pleasure working with you out can you tell us a little bit about %HESITATION at some of the shows that you've been editing a recently you've been covering the Russian newspaper monitor that's you've been doing a fantastic job editing a professor Philco much of its use %HESITATION productions and can you10/34
tell me just give me like a you know a typical day in the life of Brock west of the news but editor yeah yeah sure well usually it's music early morning start a couple copies to come to get my brain to instigate but I'm yeah I spirit you on your and you recall the files at this stage with %HESITATION with professor Philip box which I'm used11/34
to me the files and away we go we get a Philip since through a I link or will they I'm newspapers that he is coming in that particular episode and then it's basically a matter of you know I'm doing the digging as it as it is too long I'm online and %HESITATION pulling the best be Roland and kind of the best images to help %HESITATION explain12/34
this to explain the situation and you know kind of bring lost to either the sharia even even more than Philip Dodd sigh I'm up I had a really great harmonies has been challenging but also at the same time very very enjoyable to be doing this kind of research in the sourcing of this material because I've never really we never really worked on a site like this13/34
before with this kind of unique platform in format so it's really good and I hope people are enjoying the you know the graphics in the stall on the presentation of it all and I think it's deathly innate can I have to give us a big date have tipped to professor Philip for I'm creating the show and I think it's a it's a real asset for news14/34
but that's that's absolutely true so I hope people are enjoying it and if they are spread the word well that's right %HESITATION in you hit on many very important %HESITATION specific points there %HESITATION one the uniqueness of the show there's nothing else like that I've never seen anything else like it out there online and doubts professor Philip watch which %HESITATION through his his life into his15/34
expertise is able to provide us with a very unique perspective it in this critical time where there has been all this buildup in tension between the east and west between Russia and the U. S. and E. E. does are a fantastic job like you said not only does he reads you those those headlines and tell you what's taking place but he also gives you his own16/34
take on on what the message is and what's really going on and he makes it very clear his distinction between what the Russian newspapers are saying and what he sees %HESITATION and then he is of course but I based here currently in the United States %HESITATION that show it's it's a very popular show it's a great show where we're definitely happy to have Philip aboard on17/34
the team here typically filled shows run about twenty to thirty minutes closer to the thirty minute mark %HESITATION can you tell me up you know on average roughly about I mean how many man hours what do you what goes into this whole production well yeah I am every every episode in every production is you know you can assign why sometimes I fly better sometimes there are18/34
more struggle to help you know to run put together budget but generally I would say for the Russian newspapers monitor each episode is probably about between anywhere between eight to twelve hours and all of my off of work %HESITATION and then that also doesn't really include the up like time on the coordination the meetings that you and I have on the production meetings that I had19/34
was to Belle and yourself I'm going over what we're gonna do it and and of course I'm with Philip so yeah I bet I do ten hours but it can really vary you know and sometimes is a really important story that I really want to you know show visually or it's a really hot topic and there's a lot of does a lot of bombing good be20/34
rolling good images out there too long for us to live utilize so yeah police there's a lot of work into it and is always more involved in editing that than you think you know you really have to be an editor or have had some experience with in the past to understand %HESITATION all the final date how that do go into making these shows what the hell21/34
well that's that's right %HESITATION in what we love to do as news but is to be able to provide %HESITATION professional content out content that's going to out compete in outperform the %HESITATION mainstream media and the other pseudo alternative media outlets that are out there and and do it in a %HESITATION away that only news but can it mean if you look at it so usually22/34
takes up Philip and I about an hour to recorded in the need like you said %HESITATION there's that the download times there's the upload times all that the eight to twelve hour editing times %HESITATION I know down there in Australia %HESITATION the internet isn't isn't the greatest and dial your your upload time sometimes can be up outrageous scheme tell me a little bit about some of23/34
the hurdles that you face in that respect well yeah look the main hurdle here obviously in this job as you said is that how wonderful internet spades unite where women to be a first world country and we are in a lot of lies but errands at speeds %HESITATION wife full bed there really terrible and at the moment the government's rolling out the young and began which24/34
is the national broadband network com which is of course why other budget and way behind schedule and apparently people who do have it switched on now it's not I feel all that much faster than the regular ideas so that we that I currently use yes I yeah it's a bit of a hurdle but you know I'm %HESITATION unfortunate I'm I'm still home will not force them25/34
still living in stride for the time being side %HESITATION but on that night you know that's that's part of why I'm this is part of our expansion plan at news but we want to get people like to look about it and myself and yourself %HESITATION to the hotspots in the world on the ground talking to people talking to real people with integrity in journalism professes %HESITATION26/34
in fact I've just begun to plan a little trip to Vietnam next year and I've already got some I professes analysts lined up who I would be potentially willing to talk to news bond so you how fantastic would that be to get real on the ground analysis and perspectives that you're not gonna find anywhere else especially from the corporate funded Donoso media you know with with27/34
that agendas with that anything like that so that's really part of the expansion plan of news but I'm if we do achieve out all of I'm a hundred to a thousand dollars in face to well that's right and and this is the perfect time to encourage people to visit our Kickstarter campaign and pledge your support to news but face to omit also share this information sharing28/34
the information is extremely important getting it out there as far and wide as you possibly can know a member of the news but team is a marketing a professional that none of us I mean in fact I think we all despise it %HESITATION I mean but unfortunately this is this current situation that we're in right now %HESITATION with the model that we have chosen where we're29/34
not gonna be beholden to any corporations governments or foundations or anything like that were only beholden to the people so we're counting in relying on the people to support us to give us the life force that we need so we can continue to produce and the sneeze Kickstarter campaigns are they are a very taxing the very time consuming %HESITATION they they in fact a lot of30/34
that you know they're taking away some of the time that we would normally be putting into producing %HESITATION other reports and everything but but we have to we have to survive we have to be able to maintain our operation in and hopefully expand our operation so none of that's possible without your help and support please visit our Kickstarter campaign page today %HESITATION Brock west thank you31/34
so much for joining me on on this %HESITATION special behind the scenes look is there %HESITATION anything else you'd like to %HESITATION adhere I'm not at everything with everything we want to talk about been talking about %HESITATION yeah I I thought you said we've we've been assembled an amazing team here at nice but but yeah it's gonna take the support of the people to not only32/34
nine time but allow us to grow and get out there and confront expires the powers that shouldn't bay where every weekend sigh thank you all once again to everything was supportive of making news but a reality and if you can please consider are pledging to our campaign site thanks very thank you brought support independent media go to Kickstarter dot com today we have a long way33/34
to go not only to continue but to expand become more effective and will together we are only answerable to you and you are the only ones who can keep noose but in existence and allow it to go much further in pursuit of journalism with integrity please join us join the news like movement by kindly and generously pledging towards this one hundred percent people funded media beat
