well I got a question for you how many people here I'd say they control well I think we got about one or two percent of the hands going up and it's interesting isn't it it's a little bit like come people think of spelling %HESITATION or singing they think well you can either do dish for your comment and but I think you can because when people say
they come troll I think it's more to do with beliefs rather than talent and ability so I think when you say control plus just an illusion I dialed like to provide to you no one is a droll I'm not saying we're all going to draw like Michelangelo we're not gonna be painting the Sistine Chapel ceiling but would you be happy if but in this session you
could draw pictures a little bit like this or even a little bit like this well actually there's only two things you need to do to be able to achieve this one is have an open mind you up for that and to just be prepared to have a gun so grab a pen and piece of paper okay so he's always going to work I'll show you the
first cartoon gonna do to just watch to begin with I guess just watching gonna be offers Celtic the character called spike so I'd like you to draw along with me to alter the first line neutral and when you've done that look up and I know you're ready for the next line okay there we got start with the knives not that I use they're like sixty six
insole speech monks thank next the month nice big smile now over here big yeah next spike in her next put the pencil after the man that line like that Pat under the air drop a line like that but the left to the next the petitioner lying to the left lying to the right just hold drawings up and show everyone how will doing okay okay Funtastic so
it looks like you've just learned to draw one concert but you actually learned more than that you've learned a sequence that would enable you to troll hundreds and because we just gonna doodle variations on that sequence how does this drawer along with me snow's I smile I think NASA has but left the man one of her it is the shape of the top like the left
like the right so I got another character let's call her Thelma so about spike in film restraint on the one there we go another little variation getting the idea starting with the nose but this time would change the ice slightly lower two circles together like that I think that two little dots Infineon's and this time which changed the month study watch little circle colored in there
I don't know next yeah now we'll have some fun with a hat watch nice curly hair same thing pen to the left of the mouth line like that under the air drop a line so the pitcher going to the left like the right I think we'll pull him Jeff what do what they want all one more go here we go you getting the idea so we'll
start with a nose again notice we're doing little variations now will change the I. so we've gotten the Paulton will put some little dots in like that next month slightly different let's put a little bit shy triangle and a little line across which is colorless riveted now what's this big Catholic some hair watched him go little monarch next but more than I watched a couple of
triangles like a little fellow find out the bottom the hair pen to the left the month again you get the idea drop a line to the neck now the very shape one to the left like the right but we got let's go look pounder yeah so you don't sit down for politics you have a little rest now have take a rest you're getting the idea all
we're doing is little variations we could go on I'll just demonstrate a couple few we could go on all the equipment you could do someone looking unhappy if it like that so you can experiment with %HESITATION props someone who's just draw a straight line someone looking a bit fed up or perhaps you could do anything you don't really just try things out look at this squiggle
very often so all sorts of things we can do actually it one more that you do one more idea this is a great little technique I've got this people with glasses on just stroll a nose up at like spike next jul some frames for two circles like that with a little bit in between no just put some don't sing site for the eyes like that next
the air so it's a little bit like we did before this time join up the frames I said it's a bit on this but I really like watch and then a little bit better pencil in the mist all sh lying down publisher left and right so there we have it we could carry on could me hope everything just enough to convince you that in fact we
can old troll I'm not just people here I've worked with occur I'm gonna give you three examples all the other people who've learned to draw on and actually surprise them to I'm going to say that what I think is my favorites most cries develop until now the first example is I've worked a lot with children that students in schools and actually the little ones I just
draw fine but when they get about fifteen or sixteen most and think the comptroller but I've worked with them I worked this week in a school where I was coaching among using pictures from memory I don't go with trying to remember what red blood cells to I chewed through this little picture of a red blood cell carrying a handbag with over two hundred to remind her
that the red blood cells carry oxygen to a pulp reporting the great one the other people who work with his many adults in all walks of life and then to clean business and they often will want to make presentations memorable so again a quick cartoon or sketch could be really good for that I think that most people think the contra but take this example but wavy
lines little boat could represent could be a metaphor to represent willing this together so that if that was just drawn in a presentation would really stay in the memory wouldn't it third example he's should not favorite Swedish if you favorite give a bit of the party when someone asks you what you do we get a bit scared when people ask me I'm for the flight he
said to me well I support group at a training and not to teach people a troll and she sighed which come along and do some hope group she said I work with some people to volunteer a group of people who've suffered stripes so I said well I'm sure I could you know space and time for that so I said I would not put your time in
vivid done that you get near the time you think what if I let myself in for here well I feel to do it what could I possibly what could I do with it he said I know I'll do my call to drawing a like that that is like a near the time of it more more apprehensive because then I would think he would have worked with
children a book that will sort of I don't never worked with a group like this and it turns out it was all part of a charity pool tool and this took charge of the wonderful charity helps people who've suffered strokes but have a particular condition known as phase here you might have heard of a face you sometimes called this space here and the key thing is
it affects their ability to communicate so for example they might have trouble reading writing speaking or understanding I think it can be a quite a nice lighting condition it can be very very frustrating %HESITATION and can lead to a loss of confidence anyway so I prepared a list of what to do this this session for a couple of hours to break in the middle you know
and %HESITATION I got more apprehensive actually I need no warrant going to show you now the work that they did and it was one of the best things I've ever done we show you the first slide and I told them spike just like I did for you under want you to see the reaction on their faces when they did this what you can see here all
two of the striper covers on the left and right and one of the volunteer help is in the center and each stroke recover there about thirty six in the room %HESITATION with volunteers as well this one to one help if I didn't just see the delight on their faces come let's look at another picture this is a gentleman called die if it and is holding up
his picture and you could tell it was the picture of spike cotton if I I think he's gone spike even better but what I didn't realize until even after the session was that the number of the people in this session including David withdrawing but they're wrong David stroked meant that it affected the right side of his body honey trip is left as many did nobody mentioned
but to comply I just got on with it and it was an inspirational session for me it was quite a humbling session one of the best things I felt I've ever done and at the end of it I had a lovely email from Dr Mike Jordan and he's the chair of the talk group hopes to be a medical doctor chair of the group and he wrote
to me and I'm quoting he said our recoveries learned today that they control it's a bit more than that this sort of activity really bills that confident so I was happy he was happy everyone's happy everybody back again on I go in there now but every three four months so it's great so I thought that was a lovely example but he will mope drawing every god
drug depends yeah we got right I'm going to tell someone that you would recognize so start with a big nose bit like spikes next we do some ideas you might be thinking is also a bit like spike it's the next bit Nick anymore they have that line down then down here with a sigh like the left like the right we go out Einstein so you got
the pains with you you've if if proof that you shouldn't if proof that you couldn't droll you're very welcome to take the pens with you and have a practice at home even show somebody else but actually I do like to leave you up with a final thought when you walked in here today many of you didn't believe you control I'm you know I've got a question
for you about that too many of the beliefs and limit saying thoughts we all carry around with us everyday beliefs that we could perhaps potentially challenge I think differently about and if we did challenge those beliefs and think differently about them apart from drawing what else would be possible for a soul thank you very much
