it was just a normal day really me going downstairs to do my laundry in the middle of the night as usual on the way down Iran in tennis working in the building I we saw this it's heading Nancy asked me who have I spent time attending who might be my favorite neighbor etcetera then suddenly it just like that I found out that one of my neighbors
someone I used to watch TV in the corridor had died few days this is just one example from day to day life while living in an old folks home in Helsinki of course I have happy memories from the time that happens like this but you might say that this is always present in places like my former home I'm not sure if people dying all kinds of
apartment buildings but the possibility to face death in old folks home it's much higher than in place someone like me with no middle name for one thing just like me I think that the seller like figure wearing a black take you're gonna appears to be of this stunt on the scary thing I dare to say that most people of my own nights are afraid of death
swallows us on the line once up when we least expect it just as it did for my older friend well let's greeted me so happily when I sat next to her to watch on TV anyway we have a system in Finland where we have the elderly people to live in their own homes and if we throw them into facilities that I never seen again before that
place on the crown but they used to be a time when the concert the family was much further the crown prince of us have been on to the feminine and they usually live on the same groove which that's you friend grandchildren and so on I'm people also died at home surrounded by the family which I think is one reason why people face death more often their
lives but nowadays it seems to be a very different story last autumn I moved into a building it around one hundred and twenty it and there are people and to people with money and they went like this my rent was much cheaper than the normal market price and in return I was expected to spend three to five hours a week with my other neighbors that's their
way I spend time with them was completely off to me so as you can imagine I ended up hearing the same old stories the second vote for over and over again but I also had the most interesting stories to happy once and the Southlands with my neighbors I went to the museum defense restaurants and even trunk losses blocking one on the top of the hotel at
the railway station normally I would just going up one of my neighbor's door announced Devon hung out and the response was usually yes come on in but I know that there are many valid reasons why these that's we've only been up parents I think any kind of those but at the same time the loneliness isolation and exclusion on current problems in our society both for young
and old and that's why I think we need new S. of thinking new ideas how to bring people who wouldn't normally have a opportunities to interact together and the project I was fond of is one way to do it but definitely not the only one often when I told someone that I love you know folks home response was usually something like all this granite how nice
of you to spend time cronies that's something the point of working to but then it got me thinking if it is so quiet and such an important thing why can the more people do the same and I'm not saying that every once it's run out now and call their parents or grandparents and parents in law perhaps and move back in with them against the could be
a tough fight I just want everyone to think why things are like they are and consider that it had to be likeness it's not as if you want the government wants the other people to live in their own homes as long as possible would it be possible for young adults and a crying need to become roommates for instance or could there be more apartments available in
old folks homes for students so that they could be more interaction between the old and the young and maybe one new solution for the students and use housing problems one of my neighbors put impress really nicely she wished that the young people like me could be like the sun from them to bring joy and pass info leading back to their lives another neighbor into talking about
something else tend to use and they can put a possible down on but all in all I think young come spring tension perspective for the old people but my experience tells me that it works the other way around as well so the young time bringing new kind of life that wouldn't normally exist in all folks home for instance and they all they returned and teach us
about a very different kind of life and what it means to become old and also to die however someone there if young and old people have anything common but I there to say that yes we do of course we come from different times and we might have different opinions about eventually I think everybody some from the inside and in some ways nobody ridiculous themselves to deal
with all the friends I have many conversations about TV shows politics drinking sex and of course this one of the lessons I learned from my neighbors is that death isn't always about on a horrible thing I saw first hand how this is natural and sometimes it can also be merciful I have many times other people saying how they wished they could find the link this place
and talking about not going to live along anymore yeah such things can be sucking a first but then you realize that there comes a time for most of us when our lives on to any moment they used to be on top of that spending almost a century in this planet might be quite time for anyone and that points you want scary figure might appear to be
